Stephney is United’s first European Cup-winning goalkeeper.
Stephney told The Mirror: “With Edwin back and some of the missing defenders returning, I can see United not only going on to win the Carling Cup but also making a big push for the title and the Champions League.
“He’s probably the last of what I call the old-fashioned keepers – he goes down with his arms and head. Apart from his saves, he gives his defenders confidence.”
