The 31-year-old joins Pompey on a free transfer and will stay with the club until the end of the season.
“It’s very good for me to be back,” he told Pompey’s official website.
“It will be good to be able to show everybody what I can do, and I want to prove it to myself and to the people of Portsmouth.
“But the most important thing is to help get Portsmouth away from the bottom.”
