Rooney suffered a knee problem during the Carling Cup Final against Aston Villa on Sunday.
“Yes it’s okay, I went for a scan today and it’s just a bit of bruising,” he confirmed.
“So I’m having a bit of a rest day today, I should train tomorrow and should play on Wednesday.”
