Mauri’s agent, Tiziano Gonzaga, has revealed that his client has turned down offers from several European clubs.
“I don’t know how the fans can attack a player, who has been very good all season long,” the agent said to Radio Incontro.
“Stefano has never been seen as a point of reference by the supporters, but he is playing some good football.
“He did not deserve all those whistles that he received on the weekend, and if the fans stop doing this, he may score some more as he can concentrate.
“His contract will more than likely be renewed, as the president [Claudio Lotito] likes him and values his contribution. In the past, he has always refused important offers from other clubs.
“All we can hope for is that the team improves on their position in the table,” Gonzaga concluded.
