A Diego Forlan goal secured a 1-0 win for the Spanish side against Liverpool.
Sanchez Flores said: “The result is good because we have not conceded any goals, but we expect a tough match in the return leg. Our work has not been perfect because perfection is something we must complete at Anfield.
“We have made a good first step, but unless we do things right in Liverpool we will not qualify for the final. We did a very good job, the players have worked intensely and have read the game intelligently.
“The result is deserved, but mostly I think the real value is for a group of players who have reversed a very difficult situation and moved from where they were [at the start of the season] to two semi-finals and a final. So it is normal to give everything when we get a game where there is so much to gain.
“We attacked well, defended well and we avoided the problems that Liverpool could create. We have to repeat it at Anfield if we want to reach the final.”
