The former Manchester United striker knocked the Reds out of the Europa League on Thursday.
Forlan said: “Chelsea will have an even tougher game with Liverpool now. Liverpool will be disappointed after losing to us and will want to play well in front of their own fans.
“It won’t be easy for United at Sunderland but, of course, I hope my old club once again win the title. I am still a United fan.”
