The new deal will keep the 20-year-old at White Hart Lane until the summer of 2014.
Bale has recently been linked with a move to Manchester United.
A statement on the club’s official website read: “The club is delighted to announce that Gareth Bale has signed a new four-year contract which runs until 2014.
“The Wales international joined the club as a 17-year-old from Southampton in May 2007 and has gone on to make 75 appearances in our colours, scoring five goals.”
