Ipswich boss Roy Keane signed Chopra while he was manager of Sunderland in a £5million deal from Cardiff.
Chopra ended up returning to Cardiff in a £4million deal.
Ipswich are bankrolled by billionaire owner Marcus Evans and have money to available to sign new players this summer.
