Kayserispor boss Shota Arveladze has revealed that he has had telephone talks with his former Rangers team-mate about a move.
Boyd is considering a three-year offer worth around £2.2million per season.
Arveladze told MailSport: “I have had conversations with Kris and we will talk some more.
“I’m hopeful he will decide to come here but I know he has other options.
“I really want him to join me. I’ve made this a priority and hope the personal touch I’ve added to the move will work in my favour.
“Some coaches prefer to let the club president do the talking but I think the coach should always speak to the player and outline plans.”
