The 28-year-old has been linked with clubs around Europe, including Manchester United, in recent months.
“Contrary to what has been written and said in the media, Bruno Alves never asked to leave Porto. Just as it is not true, as I saw written, that his cycle at Porto is over,” said Washington Alves.
“I think, if the president said there are no offers, then it is true. And if he has no proposals, then obviously Bruno will be at Porto, with whom he has two years left on his contract.
“He is not disappointed. If he stays, and anything could still happen, he will be very happy to do so because he represents a big club.
“Again, remember that Bruno never said he wanted to leave. He only said that he would like to try another championship, which is the dream of any player. This is something very different to what has been written and said.”
