Bild reports that the German side are closely monitoring the Brazilian midfielder’s situation at Santos.
Werder Bremen are keen to bring in a midfielder this summer as German international Mesut Oezil could leave the club.
“Wesley has a very good individual action and is quite versatile. He could play as a holding midfielder, but also in a more attacking role,” said Werder’s manager Klaus Allofs.
