The 23-year-old has been linked with the likes of Lyon and Arsenal after impressing for Bordeaux last season.
Reports claim Bordeaux could accept an offer of around £21million.
“Contrary to what I have heard, we have the means to keep him at the club next season,” De Tavernost told L’Equipe.
“He can stay with us. There is no reason for him to leave.
“Anyway, we will see how he feels after the World Cup.”
