The 27-year-old is a free agent and has earlier in his career had trials with Portsmouth, Bolton, Wolves and Wigan.
“I’ve been in contact with many clubs,” he told Sky Sports.
“Villa are a very good team but nothing’s official. I’m not going to talk about anything.”
