Lucas had been a consistent starter under former manager Rafa Benitez but with Roy Hodgson now in the dugout his future has been subject to much speculation.
Palermo Sporting Director Walter Sabatini said: “We made a first offer to Liverpool for Lucas Pezzini (Leiva). But I deny that we have offered €6m. That is too much.”
