Jo joined Man City in 2008 but has struggled to make an impact and has spent successive seasons out on loan at both Everton and Galatasaray.
“It’s not a closed case but it’s complicated for him to come to Real now and we are working on other alternatives because the possibilities of that negotiation being successful are very, very scarce,” Real’s president Jokin Aperribay said at a press conference.
