The 29-year-old’s agent has confirmed that talks regarding a new deal is set to begin shortly.
“I will meet this week with the Napoli directors and discuss an extension to Paolo’s contract,” Gaetano Fedele told Calciomercato.it.
“I haven’t had any contact with any other clubs for Cannavaro. Clubs are very hesitant to start negotiations for players who are very close to their teams – as Paolo is.”
