His new contract will tie him to Espanyol until 2009.
Valverde said yesterday: “The agreement came very quickly. The club has shown it’s confidence in me and I hope to repay them.”
Espanyol president Daniel Sanchez Llibre added: “It was a very easy contract to do. Both parties are very happy and pleased.”
