The former Arsenal midfielder has been linked with a move to Premier League side Liverpool.
“Gilberto is very happy in Greece,” Gilberto’s representative, Frank Trimboli of Base Soccer told Sky Sports.
“Gilberto always wants to play at the highest level and Panathinaikos can offer him the chance to play in the Champions League.”
