Spurs only managed a 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns on Saturday in the Dutchman’s debut.
Van der Vaart told Sky Sports News: “I think I had a good first game and had a few really good passes. It was unlucky that we didn’t score one more but in the end I am happy.
“They played really good in the second half and we didn’t play well especially in the midfield.”
He added: “This is a great team, a great place and nice guys so it is easy for me and I feel at home.”
