Rangers won the game 1-0, but Saglam felt his side deserved at least a draw.
“If you look at the game in general we deserved a draw. f you consider that they scored and kept a clean sheet, then they deserved to win but overall I think we deserved a draw,” Saglam told UEFA.com.
“Manchester United won at Valencia, Rangers got a point at Manchester United and won their first home game, so Rangers have proved they are capable of going through to the next round, but the other teams have proved that they are just as strong.
“The goal was a defensive mistake. There was bad communication and we didn’t perform too well after that. But we were happy with the second half, we pressed well and did everything but score a goal; our finishing was poor.
“The game was an indication of how we can perform in this competition and we will get better,” concluded the coach.
