Man Utd striker delighted with confidence boost

The goal in the 1-0 win in Spain was the young Mexican’s first competitive goal for the Red Devils.

The 22-year-old joined United in a £7million deal over the summer.

“The goal will give me so much confidence,” said Hernandez.

“I am only at the start of my career with United and to score so early in the Champions League is a big boost.

“I always used to watch the Champions League when I was back home in Mexico.

“It is one of the most important tournaments in the world, so I was always keeping up with it.

“It is great to be a Manchester United player and I want that to continue for a long time.”

“The most important thing of the match against Valencia was that we managed to get the three points, at Manchester United there are no heroes,” he added.

“I am very happy for the result that the team got. The most important thing for me is to have helped the team, we knew how to fight and keep our goal blank, that’s very important.

“Personally I don’t care who scores the goals for our team, I think that the most important thing is to get the points that we need for keeping the team up in the first positions so we can stand firm in each competition. This result gives us a lot of confidence.

“I am getting adapted to European football, I feel that I am progressing. I am very thankful to the coach and the officials for giving so much confidence to me.”
