Liverpool forward wants silverware

The 30-year-old has yet to win a trophy with Liverpool since joining the club from Feyenoord in 2003.

“I have still got the belief that we can do it,” he told the Liverpool Daily Post. “It’s been four years that I haven’t won anything at Liverpool.

“Sometimes you can be really close and miss it and that’s unfortunately what has happened to me, we finished second in the Premier League and lost a Champions League final.

“We were close, and one thing we can do is work hard and believe and I’m still convinced I can win trophies at Liverpool.

“The last trophy I won and the only trophy I have won was so far was the cup final in Holland. I hope it’s not my last trophy.

“All the players at Liverpool want to win as many trophies as possible, so we are very disappointed to be out of the Carling Cup.

“That happens but we are now looking to the next game. And we definitely want to do well in the Europa League.

“We as players want to change things as quickly as possible and we are working really hard together to change things. We have the quality to do well in the Premier League and Europa League and also in the other competitions.”
