Birmingham boss keen on Larsson stay

The Swedish international’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

“We spoke to Seb’s people again a couple of weeks ago and we were then waiting on Peter Pannu coming back from China which he has now done and he was going to take it up from there, so that’s the latest,” McLeish told the club’s official website.

“Seb becomes a Bosman so we have to think about that and it’s now up to the club and Seb’s people to try and agree something.

“But I’m philosophical about these sorts of things and I don’t lose sleep over them.

“I wouldn’t like to lose Seb because he’s been a valuable player for us and he has had a good season, but there are players the world over that could come in and allow us to keep the quality up and the standard up.

“But you don’t want to lose players that you trust.”
