Bari could now be set for a fight to avoid relegation, following Lazio’s 0-2 win last night.
“I knew that Lazio had a quality team, and tonight, they confirmed it,” Ventura told Sky Sport. “Gillet did not make a save, as they had two ugly chances and scored.
“We played well in the first half, but in the second half, the many 1-2 passes beat us. My compliments to Lazio, but this match could have finished in a different manner.
“When you don’t get any points, some worries start to creep in. We produced a product lower in standard tonight, but our attackers play with the ball more often.
“Lazio are a competitive side, which has players ready to sacrifice themselves for the team. The coach deserves all the praise for this.
“I have always said that our aim is salvation. Last season, we were very good. After the winning start to the season against Juventus, it seemed the season was going to be a breeze, but it isn’t so. The league seems to be more competitive this time around.”
