Weir told the Liverpool Echo: “I had a chance of going on trial to Liverpool when I was 23.
“Then Gerard Houllier and Phil Thompson came to look at me before I signed for Everton.
“But I got sent off in the game and I think it was a bit of a wasted journey for them. However, like I say, I wouldn’t have changed anything for the world.”
