Ranieri took time to hail Fiorentina duo Alberto Gilardino and Gaetano D’Agostino for their goals against his side.
“We played a great match, and it is clear that Fiorentina has quality players that can open up a match,” Ranieri told Fiorentinanews after the game.
“Gilardino and D’Agostino scored two incredible goals, and I applaud them.
“Tonight, it was difficult for [Marco] Borriello and [Francesco] Totti to play together because Fiorentina defended very well, especially in front of the penalty box. Even if I had played [Mirko] Vucinic, we would have struggled to get the ball deep.”
