O’Neill said: “Young chose to move for football not money reasons.
“He has his whole career to earn really big money and if he continues to improve there’s no reason why he won’t. If anybody is successful, the money will take care of itself.
“He has a really burning desire to be a real quality player.
“If he had cost £95m, I don’t think it would have bothered him.
“He turned to me and said, ‘That’s up to you, you paid it’.”
