The European and Italian champions slumped to a 2-1 defeat against Chievo Verona at the weekend as they slipped to sixth place in Serie A.
Benitez sidestepped questions about his future by saying “do I feel I still have the president’s trust 100 per cent? Yes I do. If we win on Wednesday in the Champions League all will change. We know that the only way we can turn things around is to work harder.”
