Blackburn winger looking forward to Man Utd clash

The Norwegian international has rediscovered his best form this season after signing a new deal with the club over the summer.

“I’m playing in a different position now, more central rather than out wide as I played five years ago,” he said in the Daily Mirror.

“I know I took a step back at one point, but sometimes you need to take a step back in order to take two forward and I feel I’ve done that.

“It’s going well for me and that’s five goals in five games if you include the international match last Wednesday.

“It’s hard to say what has happened, but I worked hard to turn things round. Now what happened with me is history and I’m only looking forward. Now I’m really looking forward to that next game at United.”

Blackburn face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Pedersen secured Blackburn their first success at Old Trafford in 43 years back in 2005 and the winger is keen on a repeat of that.

“People remind me of that day in 2005 all the time and want to talk about it,” said Pedersen.

“It’s one of my biggest ever days on a football pitch – probably the biggest.

“That showed it’s not impossible for us to go there and get points off them. The league is so tight it’s unbelievable and lots of strange results are happening. We’ve beaten Aston Villa so that means we can fully focus on going to United.

“It would be great to do something like that again or, if not, do some other good things from the position I play now.”
