Dzeko refused to shake hands with the former England manager after missing a penalty during a 0-0 draw with Werder Bremen last week.
But Dzeko has since apologised whilst McClaren told the club website: “I can understand it. Football is a sport where there are lots of emotions and you have to manage them.”
