Rooney has recovered from an ankle knock and has started United’s last three games.
“You have some guys who are really important for the team and that’s what Wayne is,” Berbatov told Sky Sports News.
“Obviously when he came back he lifted the team’s spirits. I hope that he’ll stay fully fit. That way he can show truly what he’s capable of.
“Sometimes it doesn’t matter if you don’t speak the same language. If you know how to move on the pitch and how to pass the ball that’s all it takes for two good players to understand each other. I think we’re like this and we understand each other pretty well on the pitch.
“It’s important like I’ve said many times to keep training like we do on the training ground. When you know the football and how to play it, then it’s pretty much easy on the pitch.”
