The 27-year-old who has been out of action since last season with a knee injury is keen to stay and fight for his place in the Sevilla team.
Kone told Diario de Sevilla: “I am excited and eager to rejoin the group. I feel good. If the doctors make a positive report on my evolution, in two weeks I could be playing again. I’ve waited four months without playing and that is very difficult.
“I am well physically because I have worked hard. It has been very difficult for me in the last three years because of injuries, but I have had the support of the club, my family, and my friends.
“I do not want to leave Sevilla and I want to play the rest of the season here. My dream is to win things here. I will stay until the end of the season, and then speak to [sporting director] Monchi about staying. Everything depends on what I do this season with Sevilla.”
