German newspaper Bild reports that Wolfsburg could make a move for the 33-year-old in the January transfer window.
Van Bommel’s contract at Bayern is set to expire at the end of the season.
“We always want players who have an edge to them,” Hoeness told Bild.
“As for van Bommel, I would be happy to have someone like him in the team.”
“Wolfsburg has a good team,” van Bommel told Bild.
“Of course, there is much speculation about transfers at the moment, but I don’t want to contribute to that.”
