The 33-year-old’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season and the midfielder has stated that he would like to leave the Bundesliga side this month.
“His contract will not be extended,” Hoeness is quoted as saying in the Bild.
“It would be a different story if Van Bommel had asked us for a transfer now, apparently only he himself has speculated. Nobody wants him to go now.”
