The 24-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and has recently been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool.
“We met Sylvain twice and I will meet him again, but I don’t think he wants to stay at Rennes,” general manager Pierre Dréossi told the club’s official website.
“He would have played only five or six more games for Rennes this term, that’s all.”
