Sunderland are keen on N’Zogbia, while Aston Villa are reportedly considering making moves for Rodallega and Figueroa.
“I’m not expecting us to sell anybody this month,” Whelan told the Evening Post.
“We’ve got a good squad here, although we’re probably short of one striker.
“But we’ve had two strikers injured recently so I think our squad will stay pretty much the same.
“There’s only money there if we sell someone, and I think you’ll find that will be the case for most of the Premier League clubs.
“The football clubs are now, I think, starting to come to their senses, and realising they can be no more borrowing, no more stupidity.”
