The Mirror reports that the Holland right-back is an £18million target for Chelsea for next season, with Jose Bosingwa set to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Chelsea’s ex-sporting director Frank Arnesen has confirmed the club’s interest in Van der Wiel.
He said: “Our priority is now a central defender with Alex injured. Gregory is on our No.1 list, but not currently at the top.
“If we’re serious, nothing will happen until the summer.”
