The Mirror reports that Benzema could join Villa if Real Madrid manages to sign Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City.
Benzema has started only six league games for Real Madrid this season and is reportedly keen on leaving the Spanish side on loan, in order to get regular first-team action.
The 23-year-old is keen to work with his old Lyon manager Houllier at Villa Park.
