The Blues are ready to put Portuguese right-back Jose Bosingwa up for sale and are looking to bring in a new defender, according to the Telegraph.
Godin joined Atletico Madrid from Villarreal last summer for around £7million and played a key part for Uruguay in their impressive World Cup campaign in South Africa.
Godin made his Uruguay debut when he was just 19-years-old.
