Lita left Chelsea at the age of 18, when he was released by manager Claudio Ranieri.
Lita said: “I got released by Chelsea. They didn’t think I was good enough. Being rejected by them definitely drives me on.
“When people put you down you’ve got to stand up and bounce back. I think I’ve done well so far.
“I was out of club football for a few months after Chelsea and it took me two years to get into the first team when I went to Bristol City.
“Brian Tinnion was the manager who gave me my first full season, he sends me a text now and again to say ‘good luck’.”
