Campbell has been linked with a January move away from St James’ Park, with Arsenal and Celtic reportedly interested in the veteran defender.
“I want to keep Sol. He is a giant figure in the game and players can learn from him – even if he does not get in the team,” Pardew told the Sunday Sun.
“He has not been fit and he has not been available since he played against Liverpool, so it has been difficult.
“However, he has looked terrific in recent days.”
