Wright-Phillips has been linked with a number of clubs recently after impressing for Plymouth in League One this season.
The striker has signed an 18-month contract with Charlton and will join the Addicks for an undisclosed fee.
“I’m delighted to join Charlton,” Wright-Phillips told the club’s official website.
“It’s a club which I’m sure is heading in the right direction, and as soon as I spoke to the manager, I knew I wanted to be a part of it.”
Reports have suggested that Blackpool and Rangers had also made bids for the striker.
Charlton boss Chris Powell said: “I am very happy to have a player of his calibre joining our squad.”
