The 27-year-old has signed a contract that will keep him at Hoffenheim until the summer of 2014 and joins the club for an undisclosed fee.
“We’ve added some more quality and experience to our squad with the capture of Braafheid. He’s a modern left-back who adds something to the team both defensively and going forward,” said Hoffenheim coach Marco Pezzaiuoli to the club’s official website.
The Holland international joined Bayern Munich from Twente in the summer of 2009.
“It was very important for my personal development to leave Bayern for Hoffenheim, also with an eye on my future in the national side. I know the Bundesliga very well and I’m confident that I’ll find my way at Hoffenheim,” said Braafheid.
