The midfielder has been in excellent form this season with eight goals in 17 games as Borussia Dortmund have swept to the top of the Bundesliga, and his injury is a huge blow for the club’s hopes of winning the title.
Club boss Jurgen Klopp said: “It looks like a break. If it’s really a break we don’t have a timeframe – the season will be over for him.”
