But Gino Pozzo insists the club were not interested in selling at least not until the end of the season.
“Napoli were interested in Gokhan Inler in the previous transfer market season,” Pozzo told Tuttomercatoweb.com.
“We thanked the club for their interest but we were not in a position to negotiate because we were thinking about how well we were playing, and wanted to complete the season without modifying the side.”
“At the end of the season, we will evaluate our objectives and begin to prepare for the following season. We will sit down with the player and work things out. We have an excellent rapport with Gokhan because he is an intelligent person who appreciates what we offer him.
“We hope to keep our best players, and Inler is one of those.”
