The 30-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, has recently been strongly linked with a move to Villa.
“I deny contacting directly or indirectly Nicolas Douchez. It is fake,” Houllier told L’Equipe.
“And if it would have been the case, I would have directly called Rennes’ general manager Pierre Dreossi.”
Douchez has been offered a new three-year contract by Rennes, but the goalkeeper is ready to listen to offers.
“I will go where I am wanted,” said Douchez. “For now I am seeing what is going to happen, and listen.”
