The People reports that City supremo Brian Marwood has been to Italy for talks with Udinese twice in the past couple of weeks.
Sanchez could join City as a replacement for unsettled forward Mario Balotelli or event Carlos Tevez, who has been linked with a move away from Eastlands for months.
Sanchez is reportedly ready to move to England in the summer.
