Guardiola is impressed by the 23-year-old former Manchester United forward’s performance for Villarreal, according to Catalan daily Sport.
Rossi has a €40million release clause in his contract at Villarreal, but reports claim the club could be ready to sell the striker for around €20million.
Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi’s agent has previously admitted that his client would be interested in a move to Barcelona.
Rossi’s agent Andrea Pastorello told Radio Mana Mana: “No player would ever refuse to go there [Barcelona].
“At the moment there are just voices around, nothing concrete. Rossi is focused on doing well with Villarreal until the end of the season, then we will see.”
