The Sunday Mail reports that United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has bided his time for the 25-year-old, who has long been linked with the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool.
Ferguson has held talks with Adam’s former boss at Rangers, Walter Smith, and is ready to bring in the midfielder as a long-term successor to Paul Scholes.
