The 24-year-old Dutchman has failed to make an impact at the Nou Camp since joining the club from PSV Eindhoven in a £3million deal in the January transfer window.
Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly ready to include the Holland international in a move for Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas.
An Arsenal source told the Daily Star: “Afellay is a young and gifted player but he won’t be part of a deal for Cesc going to Barca.”
